“Thank you SOOOO much for the detailed advice on dealing with my injury - how kind of you to provide such a thoughtful response! And yes, it’s definitely the hip flexor group (as in it hurts to raise my knee toward the ceiling.)
I wanted to thank you SO MUCH for your input regarding my hip flexor injury. I followed your advice and as of last week I can now say that I have no soreness even after running 4 days in a row, 5 miles each day. It took me 8 WEEKS to fully recover, so I was actually surprised when I felt no soreness…I thought maybe I was in for a chronic condition.
I’m certainly not up to my previous level of stamina and speed, but I’m getting there.
I’m running in the We Gather Together Race in Sandwich on Thanksgiving morning with my two cop buddies, Dave Lewis (DEA) and Mike Clark (Barnstable PD). Will I see you there??
Thanks again – I can’t tell you how much joy this brings me, being able to run outside on a regular basis. Although doing my time on the exercise bike in the basement wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be – thank goodness for iPODs. Also, during that cross-training time, I added weight training back into the mix, and now I’m determined to continue doing this at least 3 times a week. What a difference it has made doing the upper body stuff – I’m massive! (kidding…)
Thank you again, Satin Fitness.”
